Class Closures 2023

As many of you are aware, many businesses are still feeling the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic when it comes to staff shortages and finding suitable people to employ.

Sadly this has been an ongoing challenge for us as well since reopening last year. It has meant our wonderful teachers have been stretched to their limits in helping to carry our current opening hours.

Despite advertising relentlessly we have not been able to find enough suitable staff to allow us to continue operating during all our current hours heading into 2023.

Regretfully Seal Swim School will cease to run classes during EVENINGS 3:30pm-7:30pm and SATURDAYS 8:30am-12:30pm after this term.

This is a decision we never thought we would have to make and we have done everything we can to prevent it, but for us to continue to operate next year we have no choice but to close the above times.

We are truly devastated that we have had to make this very difficult decision, knowing how many of our current families will be impacted.

We are so grateful that we have been able to be a part of your children’s education and getting to know you throughout the time you have been here, many since they were only babies.

Our plan for next year is to run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as we currently do from 9:00am-3:00pm and possibly on Tuesdays between 10:30am-2:30pm depending on staff availability and demand.

Any that are affected by the above closures that are able to come during the week, will be given priority for spots. We do not need your preferences until we ask for your confirmation about coming back next year.

We are so sorry that it has come to this and please know that we will be contacting other swim schools to ask that they give our departing families priority to enrol into their swim school, so hopefully any that can only do evenings or weekends next year can continue their lessons.

Thank you for all your support prior to this and just know any upset or frustration this causes you and your family, that we understand because we are feeling it too.

Narelle, Steph and the Seal Team
